We invite you to read about some of our success stories:
Follow Up's
The Challenge - Lenox Hill Radiology,
a large Manhattan-based physician owned practice, required additional
team members to follow up on their large number of medical claims.
The Solution - Porteck trained a
team of Offshore Claims Specialists to provide follow-up services
as well as reporting on the status of the LHR claims. The team has
remote access to LHR's Medris system via a HIPAA compliant VPN,
viewing all patient claims and documentation necessary for re-billing,
resubmission and accountability. The team's progress is monitored
through "Go To My PC" technology and regular status reports.
Collections
The Challenge - Due to the unique
nature of their proprietary tests, lack of understanding by insurance
companies and changes to insurance billing codes, a large Florida-based
cardiac diagnostic company was facing increasing denials from insurance
companies for claims submitted. This led to an increasing amount
of receivables which, in turn, had a detrimental effect on their
operations.
The Solution - Porteck offered our
collection services to this cardiac diagnostic company for claims
older than 120 days. Our team underwent training in the nature of
their services and insurance billing processes. Today, our team
offers skilled agents who are versed in explaining the nature of
their services and negotiating fair payments in a timely manner.
This has resulted in a drastic improvement in this company's receivables
and net profits.

Gastroenterology Practice
The Challenge - A gastroenterology
practice wanted to improve its collections and increase billing.
Additionally, they wanted to know how insurance companies were paying,
and which paid more for in-office procedures.
The Solution - Through "Go
To My PC" technology, Porteck Billing was able to access the
practice's old billing system and pull out their patient demographics.
Through constant communication with their staff, Porteck was able
to establish a regular pattern of information gathering as well
as claims entering and processing. Additionally, reports were created
and Porteck was able to show the practice how to improve revenues
by doing more procedures in-office rather than in the hospital,
as almost all of the insurance companies pay more for in-office
procedures.
Ob-Gyn Practice
The Challenge - An obstetrician-gynecology
practice wanted to improve its collections and create a system whereby
their bills were submitted on a regular basis. Previously, the provider
had done much of the billing by herself.
The Solution - Porteck Billing was
engaged. Information is sent to Porteck through a normal fax system.
Once the information is put into the system, our team collects payments
from insurance companies. Claims for which insurance coverage has
been non-existent (and the patients have not paid their bills) are
turned over to an outside agency for collection.

MGM Billing
The Challenge - MGM Billing, a Ohio
based medical billing organization, wanted to invest in Physician
Practice Management technology in order to increase operational
efficiencies as well as increase revenues.
The Solution - Porteck experts worked
with MGM employees to review internal processes, workflow, user
groups and systems. Together, the team determined MGM's business
and system goals, creating the roadmap for a "next generation"
technology platform based on proven technologies that would result
in better denial management, reduce the number of denied claims
and improve audit tracking. Additionally, document management and
scanning technology would aid in the warehousing of information
and documentation. The system is designed to be fully redundant
and available 24/7.
